Composer/lyricist, writer, and songwriter with Warner/Chappell, Zack Zadek has been named by Playbill as "A Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriter You Should Know", and was a two time MacDowell Fellow, Yaddo Fellow, VCCA Fellow, UCross Fellow, and Dramatist Guild Fellow. Zack won the Weston New Musical Award for his book, music, and lyrics to DEATHLESS (dir. Tina Landau) which was produced at Goodspeed Musicals. His work has been developed and presented at The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, Roundabout, The 5th Avenue Theatre, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, The Lark, Powerhouse @ New York Stage and Film, Signature Theatre, Discovering Broadway, and more.
Zack is a three time finalist for the Kleban Prize and four time finalist for the Jonathan Larson Grant. He has also been in residence at SPACE on Ryder Farm, The Orchard Project, The Johnny Mercer Writers Colony, The Mitten Lab, The Civilians R&D Group, and is a founding member of Musical Theatre Factory
As a songwriter, Zack has written and released records with artists from across every major label group, including Tate McRae’s single Slower, which was certified gold.
Zack graduated with honors from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, and Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing at the Tisch School of the Arts and has taught masterclasses at universities across the country including The Interlochen Center for the Arts, National Theatre Institute at The O’Neil, and more. He currently holds commissions from Ars Nova/Jill Furman Productions, Mike Bosner, Arena Stage, and Manhattan Theatre Club.
