Zack Zadek
is a songwriter, screenwriter, and musical theatre writer named by Playbill as “a contemporary writer you should know”.
His musical DEATHLESS (dir. Tina Landau) received its world premiere at Goodspeed Musicals. Other stage work has been developed and presented at The Public Theatre, Roundabout, The O’Neill Center, Signature Theatre, The 5th Ave Theatre, The Civillians, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, New York Stage and Film, as well as in residence at The Johnny Mercer Grove, The Orchard Project, SPACE on Ryder Farm, and as a founding member of Musical Theatre Factory.
As a songwriter, Zack is signed to Warner/Chappell and has written and released records with artists across every major label including Tate McRae, Dasha, FLETCHER, and Lauv which have been cumulatively streamed over two-hundred million times and certified gold.
A two time MacDowell Fellow, Yaddo Fellow, UCross Fellow, VCCA Fellow, and Dramatist Guild Fellow, Zack won the Weston New Musical Award and is a three time finalist for the Kleban Prize and four time finalist for the Jonathan Larson Grant.
He graduated with honors from NYU’s Gallatin School, Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, and Tisch School of Dramatic Writing.
Zack currently holds commissions from Ars Nova, Arena Stage, & Manhattan Theatre Club, and is writing projects for Warner Bros, Theatrical, Crossroads Live, & Universal Studios Theatre.
